What is a CAP

Debt Centre?

In partnership with Christians Against Poverty, Catalyst Transform runs a debt centre which provides free, personal, non-judgemental, long-term debt help to anyone* in debt. Ben as the Debt Centre Manager alongside Ruth as a Debt Coach and a team of fantastic volunteers provide support in the form of face-to-face meetings, giving debt help created by a team of Debt Advisors at CAP’s head office, and a befriending service for a personal connection to help or chat! Across the UK, CAP sees over 2500 people go debt free every year!

*excluding self-employed

What is

Debt Counselling?

‘Debt counselling’ just means;

  • Getting alongside someone and helping them work out the exact situation they are in.
  • Helping them gather paperwork to send to the Head Office team to create some bespoke advice for the best route to become debt free.
  • Presenting the advice and talking through a budget and the options to become debt free.
  • Either paying money back monthly or going through sequestration and…
  • Becoming DEBT FREE!!

Who can

ask for help?

  • Anyone who is in debt!*
  • Visit capdebthelp.org for more information about the service, or feel free to get in touch with Ben, the Centre Manager to discuss your situation in more detail before you speak to CAP if you feel that would be helpful; absolutely no obligation.
  • Or call CAP direct on their freephone number 0800 328 0006 to book an appointment

*Unfortunately at the moment CAP are unable to support someone who is self-employed to become debt free due to the specifics involved there.
